Juliana Stresses Flood Tours
Special to The New York Times.
BAARN, the Netherlands, Feb.
12Queen Juliana has decided to
give as much time as possible dur
ing the rest of 1953 to "working
visits" to the flood region and has
canceled a series of other calls,
the palace announced today.
The Queen was also said to be
desirous of avoiding "festive" re
ceptions for her because among
other reasons she felt the money
"can now better be put to other
uses."
The Queen has been touring the
flood rea almost daily. On a visit
to Middelharnis on Overflakkee
Island she was heard to say im
patiently to a woman who addressed
her as "Your Majesty": "This is
not the time for majesty! You
can call me madame."
