Hoewel de NCRV de afgelopen ja
ren in godsdienstig opzicht meer
de breedte heeft gezocht, vindt
Geel het programma prima passen
bij de 'protestantse wortels en ach
tergrond' van de NCRV. „Het is de
moeite waard om dat een keer per
jaar te benadrukken."
Voor Geel is de Bijbel 'een boek
waarvan ik leef Zowel in spiri
tueel opzicht, maar ook letterlijk:
ik verdien er mijn brood mee'. Als
theologe onderzoekt ze voortdu
rend 'de band tussen de Bijbel en
de door dat boek geïnspireerde tra
ditie en mijn eigen tijd'. Ook
preekt ze af en toe. „Ik sta zelf ook
nadrukkelijk in die traditie."
