Ondanks de tegenvallende erva
ring is televisie nog steeds iets wat
hij eventueel in de toekomst am
bieert. Maar wel in een iets andere
vorm. „Ik moet gewoon mezelf
kunnen zijn, ik ben geen acteur."
De renner, die eind vorig jaar stop
te als topsporter, heeft zichzelf een
jaar de tijd gegeven om te kijken
wat hij gaat doen. Een leven zon
der actieve sportbeoefening valt
hem behoorlijk zwaar. „In het be
gin dacht ik dat het wel zou mee
vallen, maar ik merk toch dat het
heel moeilijk is. Wat ik het meeste
mis? Het naar een koers toeleven,
het gevoel dat je in vorm bent. Het
zwarte gat is soms best dichtbij."
