Nou ja toevallig. Moeder Lisa
was ooit getrouwd met topspor
ter Mark Gastineau (American
Football) en heeft de miljoenen
die zij aan de daarop volgende
scheiding heeft overgehouden
netjes belegd, zodat er op regel
matige basis wat te spenderen
valt.
Mondaine leven
Dochter Brittny werd vervol
gens aan de zorgen van oma
overgelaten in het landelijke
Alabama. Nu Brittny in de twin
tig is, is zij toe aan het mondai
ne leven van New York en trekt
zij in bij moeder.
Voldoende drama voor een do-
cusoap? Nee. Maar dat dachten
velen ook toen bekend werd dat
Frans Bauer met de camera ge
volgd zou worden en daarna
volgde dezelfde reactie bij de
Vlaamse familie Pfaff en niet te
vergeten bij Gerard en Gordon
en wat te denken van de Osbour-
nes'? Veel bijzonders gebeurt er
niet in hun levens en toch volg
den honderdduizenden mensen
hoe Bauer een bestelling plaatst
bij de Chinees, Geer en Goor de
ene na de andere slappe lach
hadden en Ozzy Osbourne niet
uit zijn woorden kon komen.
Dus eigenlijk wel een goed idee
om de Gastineau Girls maar
eens te gaan volgen met de came
ra. Hoe minder er gebeurt, des
te groter is de kans op succes.
Dat klopt. In de VS is de serie
een succes. Want de dames vul
len hun dagen met winkelen, na
denken over winkelen en het
plannen van winkelen. Verder
af en toe een vakantie, een feest
je en veel bekvechten. Dat laat
ste wordt natuurlijk breed uitge
meten.
Na twee tv-seizoenen van gekib
bel hebben de dames er inmid
dels een punt achter gezet. Veel
hebben ze voor het oog van de
camera niet bereikt, behalve een
beetje bekendheid. Brittny is te
rug naar Alabama, haar liefde
achter na. Volgens de program
mamakers moet die liefde dan
wel zorgen voor een paar crecüt
cards en er rekening mee hou
den dat er regelmatig een nieuw
diamantje wordt aangeschaft. Ie
dereen heeft tenslotte recht op
zijn zwakke kanten. Moeder Li
sa blijft achter in New York.
Verlost van haar schaduw lukt
het haar misschien ook wel een
nieuwe liefde te vinden. Al is er
bij moeders geen financiële
noodzaak haast te maken. GPD

In Netwerk aandacht voor kor
poraal Jeroen. Hij werd tijdens
een militaire missie in zijn slaap
verkracht door een sergeant-ma
joor. Niet de sérgeant-majoor,
maar Teroen werd als verdachte
vervolgd. De militaire recht
bank veroordeelde Jeroeii tot
een gevangenisstraf. In hoger be
roep werd hij vrijgesproken van
rechtsvervolging.

HILVERSUM - De finalisten van het Nederlandse Junior
Songfestival 2006 zijn bekend. Het niveau van de deelnemers
was zo hoog dat niet vijf, maar zes liedjes zijn geselecteerd.
Dat maakte de Avro, die het songfestival uitzendt, gisteren
bekend.
Aan de nationale finale op 30 september doen mee: Noël (11)
uit Assendelft, Nigel (14) uit Bemmel, Sherefa (9) uit Amster
dam, Coen (11) uit IJsselstein, Noortje (13) en Ylva (14) uit
Zwolle, en ten slotte Kimberly (14) uit Arnhem. ANP

Moti (1977) woont en werkt afwisselend in Rotterdam en Ber
lijn. Hij maakt films, zoals The black room (2005), die op do
cumentaires lijken, maar niet puur als documentaires of vi
deofilms zijn te beschrijven.
De Muynck ontwierp in 2004 de breisels voor de zomercollec
tie van Orson Bodil. De projecten van Korth Tielens Archi
tecten zijn vaak gesitueerd in bestaande gebouwen in binnen
steden of sluiten aan op bestaande gebouwen. ANP
HILVERSUM - Het onafhankelijke radiostation Voice of the
People (VOP) in Zimbabwe heeft een mediaprijs gekregen
van OneWorld, een internationaal onafhankelijk internet-
nieuws- en informatiepunt. Dat heeft Radio Nederland We
reldomroep gisteren bekendgemaakt. De Wereldomroep
steunt het door de regering verboden radiostation facilitair.
De regering-Mugabe beschuldigt VOP van vijandige propa
ganda. Omdat VOP in eigen land geen zendvergunning krijgt,
maakt de zender de programma's in Harare en stuurt die via
internet naar Nederland. Met hulp van de Wereldomroep wor
den de programma's vanuit het zenderpark op Madagaskar
via de kortegolf naar Zimbabwe gezonden.
Ongeveer een half miljoen Zimbabwanen luistert via korte
golf naar de zender. ANP
