sie (of waanzin) als manier om uit
een bizarre en vijandige werkelijk
heid te ontsnappen, is een thema
dat bij Gilliam vaak terugkomt.
Tideland kreeg op het festival van
San Sebastian in Spanje de prijs
van de internationale kritiek. De
jury vindt Gilliam een filmmaker
die zonder concessies radicale beel
den durft te kiezen, maar vaak ver
keerd wordt begrepen.
