heid. De tomaten zitten in plastic
bakjes, evenals de margarine, de
tandenborstels zijn van plastic en
het toiletpapier is er in verpakt,
's Avonds volgt de treurige conclu
sie dat leven zonder aardolie vele
malen ingewikkelder is dan vooraf
gedacht. Vanuit het stapelbed zegt
een van de zoontjes: „Ik heb mijn
tanden niet gepoetst, want ik mag
geen plastic gebruiken."
Ondanks de ontberingen blijft het
gezin de eerste weken spreken van
een 'uitdaging en avontuur'. Maar
dat duurt niet lang. Het dagelijks
leven is ingewikkeld geworden nu
steeds moet worden nagedacht
over wat wel en niet mag.
