vermoeien met problemen van an

Alexander Pola schreef veel, maar
nam wel ieder jaar de tijd voor
een vakantie in Zwitserland.
Steeds in hetzelfde plaatsje, steeds
in hetzelfde hotel. Je kon hem bij
wijze van spreken op een willekeu
rige nacht wakker maken met de
vraag: hoe lang nog? Hij gaf je bin
nen een paar tellen precies het aan
tal dagen dat de familie weer zou
afreizen. De 41e keer dat de familie
er neerstreek, kreeg hij van de bur
gemeester een onderscheiding.
Daar was Pola, lintjeshater bij uit
stek, uitermate mee in zijn nopjes.
