leefde in de jaren dertig met geld

KGB in Genève en Londen. In
1941 werd hij door de Duitsers op
gepakt in Den Haag, omdat hij
hielp bij de verspreiding van illega
le bladen. Hij overleefde een jaren
lang verblijf in een concentratie
kamp. Hij maakte indrukwek
kende tekeningen in die tijd. Of
Anton ooit geweten heeft over het
spionagewerk van zijn tweeling
broer, blijft schimmig. Hij zou het
vast amoreel hebben gevonden,
zegt zijn kleinzoon. Anton sprak
eigenlijk nooit over zijn broer Hen
ri, zegt Ton van de Ven, de creatief
directeur van De Efteling die veel
met hem samenwerkte. Maar dat
is niet zo verwonderlijk. „Hij was
geen prater."
