Irene van de Laar doet ook vooral
mee omdat ze Paul de Leeuw zo
leuk vindt. Als ze opkomt, torent
ze met haar 1.83 meter en schoe
nen met heel hoge hakken boven
hem uit. Het ex-model wordt daar
natuurlijk ook mee voor de gek ge
houden. Maar ze vindt het niet erg
als Patty Brard zegt dat je Irene al
leen als 'tentpaal' op een camping
zal zien. „Over mijn lengte kun je
grappen maken. Doe ik zelf ook.
Maar ik ben er blij mee. Er zijn
niet zoveel bekende vrouwen die
lang zijn. Het is een handelsmerk."
De presentatrice werd in 1994 na
Presentator Paul de Leeuw temidden van de deelnemers aan Ranking The

daarna over naar de tv. Ze presen
teerde programma's als Nachtrijder
en De Ideale Man. Nu is ze te zien
in Beauty Touch.
Dat tv-werk mag best meer wor
den, maar het gaat er niet om zo
veel mogelijk te doen. „Ik ben wel
voor kwaliteitsbewaking. Ik wil
niet de hele tijd overal te zien
zijn." Ze gaat nu beginnen met het
geven van catwalk-lessen, iets wat
ze al heel lang wilde.
De opnames voor Ranking The
Stars, waarvan vanavond de twee
de aflevering te zien is, zijn al
klaar.
