The Bronsmotors were built from 2-160 B.H.P.
and were used for stationary purposes as well
as for ships-propulsion all over the world.
In 1926 an oil engine with direct injection
was developed and is now built in two types
with 20 and 60 B.H.P. per cylinder.
About 25 of the Dutch coasters is equiped
with Brons engines.
Of the stationary engines quite a number is
installed with pumps and do their share in
keeping the dutch "Polderland" above water.

The N.V. Appingedammer Bronsmotoren-
fabriek at Appingedam was founded in 1906
by Mr. J. Brons, the inventor of the "Brons-
motor", the first compression-ignition oil en
gine with airless injection.
